Conservation projects
I can assist in delivering conservation projects. I am very keen that projects work with ‘the end in mind’ and that clear goals, or even exit strategies, are set. But project evaluation is a step-by-step process, learning from each stage and reassessing what worked and what did not. The first stage is to identify the desired results and then define how to get there.

Training in field techniques
I can offer in-country or remote training, tailored to the aims of the project, in a range of ecological techniques, for example; pitfall traps, Visual Encounter Surveys (VES), transects, and advise on methods for population census including mark-capture-recapture. Techniques will be orientated to each case, as species and situations differ substantially.

Research
I can assist your research aims by helping to apply statistics, delivering training (including developing presentations), spatial mapping or developing figures for publication. I use R for statistics and ARCGIS Pro for spatial mapping and am currently investigating using drones for aerial mapping. The research publications I have been involved with can be found here.

Presentations and conferences
Public presentations can be daunting but are an essential part of engaging with an audience. I have delivered well in excess of 20 talks to conferences and countless direct engagements with public, media and funders alike. I can offer training/help to develop presentations using power point.
